JUTLAND

SEPTEMBER 2024

What: Aarhus Food Festival

Where: Aarhus

When: 6th – 8th September

This food festival is one of the biggest food festivals in Denmark and is a must for all food lovers! Located in Aarhus Bay, there are food stalls from over 250 companies, tempting you with their delicious tasty delights over 3 days.

Come with a hungry belly and a desire to try and learn something new. With demonstrations, stalls, exhibitions and plenty of food to sample, this is a food festival that is guaranteed to leave you feeling totally satisfied, yet wanting more!

What: Generator Festival

Where: Odense

When: 6th – 7th September

This is a very special little festival taking place in Odense that is essentially just one big party thrown for the city’s students! That, however, doesn’t mean you are not invited. This really is one that adheres to the more, the merrier ethos and no matter how old you may be, come and check out this 2 day festival that sees the streets of Odense transform into one big party!

What: Rømø Kite Festival

Where: Rømø

When: 6th – 8th September

This is quite a spectacular festival, Europe’s largest in fact, and is something, we can safely say, you don’t see every day. Rømø is an island off the west coast of Jutland and if you’re spending some time travelling around Denmark while you’re here, it’s certainly worth visiting especially if you’re here when the Kite Festival is taking place! Be prepared, the island gets very busy for the Kite Festival (yes, it is THAT good) – attracting over 40,000 visitors each day.

OCTOBER 2024

What: Christmas at Krusmølle

Where: Aabenraa

When: 11th October – 23 December 2023

The Danish do Christmas SO well, and if you have the chance to soak up even a small bit of Christmas spirit while you’re near this town, then you should! This little Christmas market is a ‘legendary tradition’ in this part of the country and involves all things Christmassy (food, wine, twinkling lights) and more. Check it out while you’re here! 🙂

What: Oyster Safari

Where: Rømø

When: September – December

It’s time to go oyster picking! Oysters often go hand in hand with romance, so if you love snacking on fresh oysters, with a glass of sparkling wine in hand, it makes perfect sense that you might like to go oyster picking to collect some of these delicacies to celebrate your wedding. Directly from the Wadden sea, picked by your own hands – you won’t get fresher than this. See booking website for further detail on when!
