With more than 20.000 international couples who visit Denmark to have their big day here every year, we decided to build this magazine to give you inspiration for your Danish elopement.
Renate Meimere; Copenhagen wedding photographer, consummate professional and trusted GMiD collaborating partner, has put together this guide with tips and advice to help you feel at ease in front of the camera, on one of the most important days of your life.
When Leanne from Getting Married in Denmark asked me to talk about Pride and LGBTQIA weddings, I felt really privileged to have the opportunity to use this space to talk about such topics. This also shows Getting Married in Denmark’s commitment towards creating a better world for us all, which makes me very proud to collaborate with them.
My name is Martina (she/her), wedding and elopement photographer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. And I’m queer.
Find out what is going on in, or near to, the town you are getting married in our ‘What’s On in Denmark’ guide. We have picked the most notable events we think are worth checking out, if you have the time while you’re here to help you truly immerse yourself in Danish culture.

“Everything went extraordinarily well; the weather the places, the food the people and most of all our ceremonies and union.”
Mona and Keenan it looks like you had the most wonderful and happy wedding day in Odense and you look so very happy!
Huge congratulations to you both from the whole team at Getting Married in Denmark! ❤️
“We really enjoyed our time in Aalborg, and the food in Denmark was absolutely fantastic. After the wedding, we traveled to Skagen to see the northernmost point of Denmark, and then continued to Copenhagen.
Thank you for your support, guidance, and all your helpful advice throughout the process. We are very satisfied with the service you provided.”
Huge congratulations to you both, Anastasia and Gareth, you both look very happy! Wishing you all the very best from the whole GMID team!

Meet Anastasiia, hair and makeup artist based in Copenhagen, also available in Odense and Stevns Klint.
She works with couples of all backgrounds, skin tones, and hair textures, so whoever you are, you’re in good hands.
And as you know, we don’t work with just anyone: Anastasiia is exactly the kind of vendor we want in our network 🤍

Check out our gorgeous Silvio from Germany and Adwait from India - we are in LOVE with their suits, smiles and colour co-ordination!
They were married at Copenhagen City Hall and told us afterwards:
“We had a great time with our families. Ceremony was very nice, and short 😀
We went to @esmee_cph for lunch, and chartered a small boat in the afternoon where we had some sparkling wine and also some sightseeing. We all loved Copenhagen!”
We are so delighted for you Silvio and Adwait! Huge congratulations to you both from us all!
